52 Snapshots of Life: Create

Finally, an easy challenge -"create". Naturally that brings to mind the craft and art room slowly being created from a former guest bedroom. We are still trying to find an affordable cutting/drawing/storage table, but in the meantime I'm making do with our old card table. It's all coming together a little bit at a time (click here to see my post about making a memo board for this room).

 I'm a messy worker!

Ted gave me a lot of the supplies I needed to start learning to oil paint for Christmas. I'm doing online tutorials. So far I've tried lessons from Wilson Bickford, Marion Dutton, and Andrew Whyte. They've all been lots of fun, and most importantly I'm learning a lot of new techniques. Eventually my goal is to be able to create original paintings of my own.

When I get really into creating a drawing or painting time just seems to fly. "Getting in the zone" while doing something enjoyable is supposed to be really good for mental and physical health - something to do with stress relief!

I'm looking forward to visiting the other blogs on the hop now that my post is finished to see the creative things others have been doing.

  9. I love this post Amy! I am laughing for not thinking before I even clicked your link that you'd have an easy time with the create theme. I am as far from a crafty DIYer as they come so create was not as fun for me but I have now had vicarious fun through you! Thanks!
