"Veteran" and "Thankful" are a natural combination. My husband and his youngest brother are the two veterans of our generation in the family. Ted served in the U.S. Navy, Ron in the U.S. Army Reserve. There's a lot of good-natured teasing via text on the day of the Army-Navy football game!
Several years ago we were able to share Thanksgiving with Ted's entire family at his parents' house on the occasion of Ron's return from Iraq (he deployed a number of times in Iraq, Bosnia, and Afghanistan). What a meaningful Thanksgiving that was.

ReplyDeleteYou are right about the weather in Colorado, if you want to be in the mountains. There are warm parts of Colorado. Down on the plains, it rarely stays cold for long and snow melts very fast. But, up higher in the mountains, winters can be tough. When I was able to ski, it made winter magical. Now that I'm not allowed to ski, I find myself wanting to go to the desert for the winter! In an ideal world, I'd live in the Colorado mountains for the summer and in the desert for the colder parts of the year. That's my 2 cents about your "Zillowing"!
