1. We spend time having fun with them.
2. We spend big bucks to keep them healthy with good food and good vet care.
3. We worry more about their weight and exercise than we do about our own.
4. We hug and kiss them goodbye when we leave and hello when we return.
5. And finally, when they've lived their lives to the full and their bodies are failing, we let them go peacefully…even though it breaks our hearts.
What a wonderful and true post. The saying goodbye is the hardest, but is done with the same love as everything else. Wishing you extra love today.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt posted on FB that she was seeing things about Love Your Pet Day yesterday…and it was upsetting because their pet had to be euthanized that very morning. So it inspired me to think about what a final act of real love that is.

ReplyDeleteEach of our pets have left us too soon but in time we have remembered a ton of memories that made the pain of their leaving bearable. Paw prints on our hearts for sure
