This week I've had a wonderful chance to see sunny San Diego for the first time since we moved back to the East Coast twenty years ago.
I also was able to reconnect with my very dear friend Laury. Our children were all in elementary school together and we were neighbors. We've kept in touch over the years with a few phone calls and the annual Christmas cards and letters, but nothing can replace being together. We've hiked, had dinner, shared a table with an ocean view for lunch, walked miles at Del Mar beach. And talked and talked, just as we did when fifty yards separated us instead of 5000 miles.
And though it has changed, San Diego is as beautiful as I remembered.
What a lovely week it has been. I don't expect to wait another twenty years for my next visit.

oh that is fabulous and your photos are wonderful. It is hard to have friends so far away, but if they have to be far away then San Diego is sure a great place to visit, especially now!
