Black and White Sunday: New York, New York

We often travel for fun, but this time we had a purpose too.
I'll help! Which page is New York on?

Our son finished his internship at the United Nations and needed transportation home, giving us the perfect excuse to visit NYC for the first time!

So I'm sharing a few of the black and white photos I took of the cityscape for the B&W Sunday Blog Hop.
9/11 Memorial

Coast Guard Monument at Battery Park

Freedom Tower

St. Patrick's Cathedral

Central Park
(love the pigeons!)

Rotunda of the Natural History Museum

Brooklyn Bridge

Lady Liberty
We chose the hottest 4 days NYC had all summer for our visit, but as you see we didn't let that stop us from making the most of every day.

And don't get me started on the amazing food… I don't think I'd want to live in NYC but it was lots of fun for a vacation.

Where should we go next?
Black and White Sunday is a blog hop hosted by Golden Woofs and Dachshund Nola. Join the fun!

    1. Oh wow that's awesome, you'll have a great time! IF you want to see a show on Broadway and IF you haven't seen The Book Of Mormon, I can highly recommend it. It was incredible and so funny.

  5. Your photos are SO fantastic! I just moved back to my NY home after nearly 10 years living in Phoenix. I've loved every one of the places you picture here and visited many times.... except the 9/11 memorial. I was still living in NY that day, I worked across the street from the trade center. It's been so many years but I still can't bring myself to visit the memorial, or to even get close. One day I'll be able to get myself there to see it and pay my respects to the people we lost there. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos, I've missed NYC so much, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. I love the photo of your dog w/ glasses, super cute pooch!!

    1. Thank you! Yes I can definitely understand that you wouldn't feel comfortable going back to the memorial. How awful for you to have been there. We found the name of one of my husband's friends, he was a copilot on Flight 11. It meant a lot to him to see it and remember.
What a big change, Phoenix to NY! Have fun being back in your old stomping grounds.

    1. Thank you, if you go, maybe don't go when it's quite so hot though! I'll bet springtime is nice there because you do a lot of walking.

    1. Haha he didn't want to put his paw on the atlas, and then the glasses almost put it over the edge…but he'll do almost anything for his favorite treats :D
