If anyone needs extra motivation, here's some. Flies like dog poop, and they taste with their feet. They taste dog poop, your hamburger, dog poop, the edge of your glass, more dog poop, your kid's popsicle…
Flies aren't just looking for food. They are also looking for suitable places to lay eggs, which will hatch into…well, you know.
We saw dog waste left by the sidewalk on our walk today. Ugh. And it's a problem in the city parks, virtually all of which have picnic areas (although frankly since our city provides open trash cans in its parks, the flies have plenty of food anyway).
There really is no excuse. What is just disgusting in the winter is a local health hazard in the summer. Hop over to Sugar (our host) and enter the giveaway for a Fifth Paw to make scooping your dog's poop a bit less yucky!
Sad, but true. There is no excuse and yet people constantly find a reason to pretend it wasn't their dog.

ReplyDeleteGreat points Amy! I scoop the poop from our backyard each and everyday but I inevitably miss some and the flies come... gross. If I keep the yard clean, though, there are no flies and the whole garden is more pleasant.
