Wordless Wednesday: Who Am I? Canine Edition

Like last week's ocelot, I am found in the United States.

I look a lot like one of my close relatives. Our last common ancestor was relatively recent, and we can actually hybridize.

  1. Many years ago my hubby and I "house sat" an old farm. We would sit on the hill and watch the coyotes chase and catch mice in the field below. Sometimes they would come up to the house.

One time I walked around the corner of the house just as the coyote came around the other corner. It startled both of us and after we stared at each other for a minute or two he backed off and ran away. So I guess what I'm saying is my guess would be coyote.

I love that photo of the pup.

  3. Coyote? There are coyotes in my neighborhood and I am very scared that they might eat my small dog. Everyone has horror stories about this happening to someone they know. :(
