SnOh-Boy!

Here in southeastern Virginia snow is a rare event. Snow that accumulates is even rarer! However, this week's arctic blast brought us a winter wonderland! Like most sporting-breed dogs, Toby loves the cold and snow. We needed hiking boots on the icy streets but Toby seemed right at home on his paw pads.
"Ready for your walk yet?"
"Yes please!"
We set out, with me lagging a bit behind to take pictures of the white magic...

I didn't alter the photo - A week ago it was in the 70's and our quinces began to bloom...

A neighbor's flag captures the theme of the day...
Then Toby began to have adventures as usual!
"Rabbit alert!" (was it reading the paper?)

'Frosty paws' - but not the famous treat...
"Intruder!!!"  The body language says it all - hackles raised, back feet poised for retreat.

Scary - until he tried to eat Mr. Snowman's carrot nose!
This cactus plant copes with the freezing temperatures...

...and so do the palm trees.
And then, to Toby's delight, he meets a friend!
"Ginger! Hey Ginger! Wanna be my Valentine?"
"See you on Valentine's Day, Ginger!"

  3. BOL - that's so funny about the raised hackles with the snowman! You never know Toby - a man could be inside and could burst through that snow covering!

    1. That's just it. Only someone up to serious mischief disguises themselves like that. See Mom, SOME humans get it.
