a. In Buddhism, it is a state in which the mind, enlightened as to the illusory nature of the self, transcends all suffering and attains peace.
b. At Big Cat Rescue, an aptly named ocelot.
c. For me, it is the ocelot I chose to sponsor.
Love those ocelots...
And my sponsorship packet (a Christmas gift) arrived today! Longtime followers know that I have a special affection for ocelots due to a connection with one many years ago. You can check out my previous posts about them here and here.
Here's what was in my packet:
a personalized 8x10 photo of Nirvana, address labels, two tickets for a keeper tour of Big Cat Rescue, and a 10% discount card on their merchandise.
I'll be hanging Nirvana's photo in my craft/art room. Who knows, maybe someday I'll even get a chance to visit her and tour Big Cat Rescue.
A fitting name...
Niravana knew suffering in abundance early in her life. Born on June 20, 1994, she was rescued about a month later from a vet's office. She had been left for dead by a broker. She has attained peace at Big Cat Rescue in her large cat-a-tat, where she can climb, be outdoors, mark her territory, and be kept in good health. At age 20, Nirvana is a senior cat, but she doesn't show her age! Her long life is a testament to the quality of care she has been given.

It always makes us happy when some one helps out a member of the animal family, some have a hard time in life with people that don't care or wish to abuse animals

Ocelots are so delicate and gorgeous. It's wonderful that you are sponsoring one!
ReplyDeleteI was going to answer, "A 90's grunge band," but I like your ocelot even better! I love to sponsor animals. I sponsor a goat at a rescue farm in Wisconsin. I have a pass to go visit one day, and hopefully I will get a chance before I move! I hope you get to meet Nirvana, too!
ReplyDeleteIm a big fan of fostering wild animals to protect them. The ocelot is beautiful
