My plans for today's post went out the window when I watched this morning's coverage of the Oklahoma City/Moore F4 tornado. This tragedy is almost incomprehensible. "One minute it was there, the next it was gone..." says the woman in this video.
She explains how she called to her little dog in the devastation of her home and she now knows he is dead under the rubble. As Paul Harvey used to say, now the rest of the story-

"Well, I thought God just answered one
prayer to let me be OK, but he answered
both of them, because this was my
second prayer."
Now a website has been set up to reunite
more pets in Oklahoma with their families.

What a wonderful response in such a very
short time!
In the midst of devastation, may this and
other miracles bring hope to the victims.
I have seen this video posted on like 20 people's FB pages today, but this was the first chance I got to actually watch it. What a great video!! Glad I took the time to watch it.

I'm glad you liked it. I got a little choked up - I saw the CBS 3 minute version first and was impressed with how poised this lady was. I'm so happy for her.
DeleteI've seen some of the coverage on the news and its absolutely terrible. Sending prayers and thoughts to everyone affected xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Misaki, you are so kind.
DeleteMy Mum saw this video on Facebook and couldn't stop crying - we were so happy for this dog and for the lady who lost everything to be reunited again - we're thinking about all the other unfortunate people at this time,

Your pal Snoopy :)
Me too. I just saw that they think everyone is now accounted for. I hope that is true.
DeleteThank you for posting this video. I was so happy for the woman and her dog. Both her prayers were answered at a time like this. Sending good vibes to all those affected by the tornado.
ReplyDeleteI know the video is viral now but it really hit hard when I first saw it.
DeleteI saw this video on facebook - absolutely amazing. Praying that more people are reunited with their loved ones. They are saying that now it's less of a search and rescue and more of a recovery, but I hope they're wrong. I hope they still find more people (and pets) alive in the rubble. Completely devastating. I had to stop watching when they started showing pictures and footage of the elementary school and parents searching for their children. Too much. Just awful.
ReplyDeleteThe people there are incredible. Amazing stories of neighbors helping neighbors.
DeletePS> don't visit the pet search website I linked to in this post if you don't want to cry some more.
