Last year the males (including Toby) were supposed to complete a 10-day, 100 mile hike in the Shenandoah Mountains. Walking the Appalachian Trail by day, pitching a tent and eating jerky and Mountain House by night.
Meanwhile us ladies (me and Amber) relaxed by the pool at a fancy bed and breakfast near the trailhead. We like backpacking too, but not for 10 days. On the third day we were called in to rescue the men-in-distress, to their chagrin, but hey, safety first. They wisely chose safety over pride.

Ted, Kevin, and Toby have rebooted the adventure. It was raining, windy, and an unseasonable 56 degrees - not ideal for starting a long trip. But so far - no news is good news and they are still out there somewhere on the Appalachian Trail!
